Q. How can I knit a garment that fits?

A. Not everyone knits the same. We find that patterns can be wrong, the yarn selection was not appropriate or that the knitter didn’t get “gauge”. We will work with you to verify all these points when shopping with us.

Q. Can you teach me to read and understand a pattern?

A. We would love to help you. Please book an individual lesson with us. We will “walk” you through the pattern making sure you understanding the terms and language used. We encourage you to make notes so you remember all tips you learned. A lesson is just for you, taught the way you learn best.

Q. Do you finish garments?

A. Yes, we do finishing. We will put together your project to enhance the beauty of your knitting. And yes, we finish projects that are not from our shop.

Q. Can you improve my finishing skills?

A. We offer lessons – please refer to “Classes” section for details. Book an appointment, bring your project, pattern and yarn and we will teach you the finishing techniques that we use. Finishing is so important and will make your knitted garment look fabulous.

Q. Is there any way to know what a ball of yarn will look like after it is knitted?

A. Most of our yarns are knitted into project so you can see what the yarn looks like. Plus, you can try on the knitted model. We have over 200 garments on display.

Q. What else do you carry in the shop besides yarn, needles and accessories?

A. Good question. We offer baby clothing, project bags and totes, purses and belts, handcrafted jewelry, hand-painted shoes, art for your walls, unique sequins, trims, beads and feathers.

Q. I ‘d like a sweater knitted for me. Can you do that?

A. Yes, we’d be happy to knit or crochet for you. Come in and we will talk about the garment, pick out the best yarn and color and decide on the correct sizing and shape. We will tell you pricing and lead time before starting your garment.
